Founded in 1985 in the small west country village of Somerton with Amstrad Action Magazine, it is now a mighty global publishing house with over 200 brands and offices all over the world serving over 400M monthly visitors with websites like TechRadar, GoCompare, Tom’s Guide, Marie Claire, Space, CyclingNews, Home & Garden, and Space.

I had the pleasure of learning lots, working with amazing people and leading on the development of innovative, enterprise-level proprietary tech for this global media giant.
My tenure began in 2010 with a data team managing affiliate links and migrating magazine data into websites.

Developing a range of skills in product management, I spent twelve years building a money-making proprietary price comparison technology called Hawk, a powerful, unified CMS product called Vanilla, guiding magazine subscriptions developments, business analyst support for Newsletters, and supporting on a whole raft of platform products, migrations, and project streams.
I worked under eigthteen different Directors and supported on 25 Merger & Acquisitions.
By the end I was the Product Operations Director heading up the product function across all website platform and eCommerce integrations, responsible for all on-page monetisation and supporting all digital website product development.
My work had a direct influence on the share price rise from £1.10 in 2015 to £35 in 2022.
IMPACT
Led from conception the product development of the proprietary price comparison tech Hawk that generated £84k in our first year and £50M ARR by year seven. (See more here)
Led the development of a new, unified, single proprietary CMS Vanilla to store, manage and deliver editorial content from over 30 websites that serve over 400M monthly users.
The platform product domain expert that steered migrations of newly acquired web brands often achieving massive 104% audience lifts.

Implemented advanced eCommerce revenue reporting system enabling 30-person sales department to leverage in-house customer spending insight. E.g. enabled a £500k ad sales contract with Nikon.
Led all hypotheses based feature improvements delivering a combined worth of over £25M in annualised recurring revenues.
eCommerce due diligence processes on behalf of potential business acquisitions. One led to shocking piece of insight and a surprisingly valuable feature that we multivariate tested with a validated worth of an additional £28M per annum.
